Why I Keep Teaching Under Trees

Why I Keep Teaching Under Trees

There is a plumeria tree I practise under whenever I can. Pink flowers, patient branches. Students keep telling me the same thing afterwards: “I didn't check my phone once.”

Nature does half of my job. The breeze sets the rhythm for pranayama. Birdsong replaces the playlist. The ground teaches grounding better than any cue I could give.

We spend our days in boxes — rooms, cars, screens. The nervous system remembers it was not built for boxes.

This is why nature-based sessions are part of every Soul Bloom program, and why our retreats begin outdoors at sunrise. If you cannot join one yet, borrow the principle: take one practice a week outside. Any park. Any tree. Watch what changes.
